This is quite easy, because I’m just 4 courses apart from finish pre-grade. For a career of agronomy, it has just a little amount of fieldwork (without the pandemic status) or practice, we do have several “practice courses” there are five of them, but just in two you do some actual field work. Just recently the study program adds English as a mandatory course, but what about computation or programming skills? Both of them are included in RNR and Forestry but not in ours.  If then we go to the building, yeah it makes us wonder where is the money that we pay? I mean the library’s roof leaks when it rains, and despite supposedly being fixed last fall, the problem persists; in the other hand they do change the computers for new ones, but they restrict the software so much that it freeze if you open more than 3 tabs in the searcher , and we are forced to download and install WinRAR or Zoom every time that we log in, weird enough the four old computers that are in the library aren...

Delorean to future

Image
I have   watched enough movies/ series and read CSI FI books to know that there are certain rules for time-travel,   for instance   If I were to go back in time   I would really try to change a couple of things, like invest in bitcoin or warn people about their futures or accidents , but that could affect history in a bad or good way   also   people wont belive me or will jut laugh with our recent history events like :   “A global pandemic?   HAHAHa! How could that happen? ”or “What do you mean that there is gonna be less water?”, and obviusly I wont   prevent my own birth, I have work like an enzyme for some people, so without me some of those bonds couldn’t happen. For that and the fact that I’be accepted life the way it is, I wouldn't go to the past.    In the other hand,   I think   would be better   and less harmfull to go and check some stuff in the future, just the near future in some decades. Since I do...

Consultant

Well, I always liked to work on something related to the soil , plants and minerals, so being an Agronomical Engineer  was the best choice . But we can work in fields, with animals , laboratory etc etc , so about “the job”,   I dream to work as  consultant,  but just in that , because usually its a secondary job usually. I know about that job  since long ago , but just in the pas two years I been able to talk with some consultants, and they are in almost all the lines of work.     In general a consultant is a professional who people calls to solve  problems , design something or give advice on a matter . Some important facts: - There isn’t a “title” to be a consultant. - The “Fame” its a factor equal to experience and even more important, because it doesn’t mater all the degres that you earn if no one knows you.  -Its important to know aboutt  the subjects in your study area and had contacts from others(like a lawyer or v...

First time on the sky.

In 2021 we had the luck that  “All Saints Day” was a monday, and I used that to make favor to my aunt , she ask me to go to Valdivia to help  with the evaluation of  a  property with agricultural potencial that she and her friends were interested in adquire . The problem is that it was close to the Andes , and I was busy , but she and her friends offered me a plane ticket to arrive asap, and I gladly accepted cuz I never been on  a aplane. The fly itself was about an hour  but I was scared, not for the movies , but the turbulence that we had , the airplane was small so we felt every single wind gale . After the trauma, I helped and after 6 hours it was done then I spent the  rest of the Sunday  in Valdivia turisting, and I must say that  the Seafood-Chesse-empanada was awesome. But afther a day of work and  and fun …..the sun rised for return and the ticket was  for a round trip, I wished  for the posibility to take a ...

Kiwi-Land

Image
Most of my Friends and family says that I should know better my own country (and as a future Agronomist that’s  crucial)  , or the neighbour countries, but If I were to choose  a country  to go , that whould be  New Zealand.  Famous for their  Rugby , Kiwi birds and being confused with Australia (in daily basis) , and according to international statics,  New Zealand  is one of the best places to work and  the safest to live due its low crime rate. One of my plans in the  next couple of years is  to get a work  in that country; they have a big agronomic industry in  livestock  and fruit production(excelent for temporary works). The maximun of time that a foregeing can stay for work it depends but agriculture Jobs are in the longest amount of time. And , not less important, they salary in a week its about the minimal wage of a month here in chile; along with the experience , could help me to develop my own bu...
